Tripp's 2nd Easter

Tripp's second Easter was much different from the first. He could actually hunt eggs for the first time! Last year he was only 5 months old and couldn't even sit up on his own. Now he's walking and running (and falling a lot) so much he hardly slows down!

We had a fun, family filled Easter weekend. On Saturday, we had lunch and an egg hunt with Will's parents, sisters, their husbands, and all of Tripp's first cousins. Tripp did great considering we ate hamburgers and hunted eggs during the usual nap time! In order for Tripp to get a little cat nap in before all the excitement we left our house early and got to Wendy and Jim's a little late. Will drove from Newborn to Poterdale through Covington and then back. All of Tripp's cousins, but especially the girls, were so excited to see him! We had a delicious lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, mac n cheese, pasta salad, etc. then Tripp got to start hunting eggs before all the other cousins since he's the youngest of the grandchildren while the rest had to wait until he had a few in his bucket. Tripp called all of the eggs balls and had a great time picking them up and putting them in his bucket only to dump the whole collection out to watch them bounce and roll. He loves to do the same thing to his daddy's practice golf balls. After hunting eggs we all hung around Will's sister's and brother-in-law's home taking pictures, playing, riding bikes/four-wheelers/wagons, talking, and just enjoying the afternoon being together.

On Easter Sunday, we got up to eat breakfast, dress up in our new clothes (really Tripp's outfit was the only new clothes anybody had on), see what the Easter Bunny brought us, and then head off to the 10:30 worship service at church. After church, we went to Mimi's (my grandmother's house) for lunch and an egg hunt. Tripp had lots of fun picking up eggs this time too! He had a spot on the lawn that was just for him since again he's the youngest of Mimi's great-grandchildren. We had a delicious ham with all the sides like deviled eggs, potato salad, green beans, yams, squash casserole, and pie or banana pudding for dessert. It was a rare occasion to have all of Mimi's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren together at one time but this holiday we did it! I had a great time seeing my uncle, cousins, and their children. It was also fun to see Tripp interact with Gage who is 4. He loved watching Gage throw sticks into the woods, make funny faces, etc. Tripp cracked up laughing at his older cousin several times.

The only family that we missed seeing on Easter weekend was Will's grandparents. We will have to see them sometime very soon. We missed you, Grandma and Grandaddy!
