6 Weeks Old

Our little John Brody is six weeks old and growing! He loves to eat and eat a lot! Sometimes he'll drink 5 ounces other times just 3 ounces. His little legs, arms and neck reflect his eating habits because boy does he have rolls! He's our little Michelin man! He eats about every three hours (or two during the daytime) but lately has been sleeping a longer stretch of time at night. In the last week or so he's slept for 5 hours to at most 8 hours at once. That has made me and his daddy very happy considering how tired we are! Now if that will just get consistent it would be wonderful. Going from one little boy to two little boys is quite the adjustment!

While John Brody is up during the day he loves to play (lie) on his Gymini or swing in his swing. He'll listen to and watch his big brother be loud and silly. We try to do tummy time during the day and man does John Brody fuss! He likes being on his tummy of all of 3 minutes and then he's mad at the world. John Brody smiled at me for the first time when he turned 5 weeks old. As I was talking to him he looked up and grinned. Now he loves to "talk" to you while you hold him. He'll just smile and coo and melt your heart! When he coos and smiles at you it makes all the sleepless nights worth it. John Brody also enjoys bath time. Tripp likes to help me give him a bath. He scoots a chair over next to the sink and climbs up to stand next to me. I'll wash John Brody and Tripp will rinse (and play in the water). A fun time for the three of us.

At his two week well check up he weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. I am looking forward to his two month check up to see how much our little one has grown.
